He said that it was hard on the Yorkshire public who had turned up in numbers to watch the start of the series.

Gatting also spoke about the prospect of seeing fresh talent like Chris Jordan, Ben Stokes play in the series. He also spoke about James Tredwell and Graeme Swann.

Gatting said he was also pleased with Ravi Bopara’s form in the recent past.
