Kings XI Punjab will miss the services of their captain-coach Adam Gilchrist who is still not fit from the hamstring injury he picked up during a game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab however have no complaints for his absence as stand-in skipper David Hussey's captaincy has augurs well for the team. Punjab have to virtually win all of their matches from now on to be assured of a playoffs spot.

On the other hand Deccan Chargers who are having a poor season will look to salvage some pride to collect as many wins as possible.
