Spinning legend Shane Warne talks about getting his 700th wicket which he took on Boxing day Ashes Test in 2006.
His former teammates Ricky Ponting and Brett Lee and his victim Andrew Strauss talks about the buildup.
Shane Warne mentioned that he had woken up at 4. a.m in the morning and that it was unusually cold. He had dressed up his kids and had told his teammates to get on with the job and try to get Australia in a position to win 4-0.
Andrew Strauss joked that ” It was my own personal milestone”.
Brett Lee admitted that he wanted to get it over with as soon as possible ” I wanted Warnie to get a bowl early, get his 700th and then go on to smash the Poms”
Ricky Ponting, the captain on that historic day also saw the anxiousness that was surrounding the momentous occasion and remembered how the Warne’s Melbourne crowd had given him a tough time, chanting he local boy’s name so that he could have a bowl early.
Eventually, Warne bowled Strauss, through the gate to spark of wild celebrations in the sellout MCG crowd.
