Shane Watson spoke to the media after his blistering century against Worcestershire in the lead up to The Ashes and spoke of his delight at being back as an opener.

Watson showered praises on his opening partner Chris Rogers and said the latter brought in a lot of experience into play and helped him revel at the crease.

Watson said that he enjoyed facing the best of the bowlers from the opposition first up when asked about what he loved the most about playing as an opener.

Watson and Chris Rogers added 170 runs for the first wicket with Watson scoring his ton before lunch.
