Part two of Simon Taufel's lecture delivered at the Marylebourne Cricket Club's (MCC) Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture.
Taufel talks about the value of hardwork and preperation that were the most important values that the umpiring taught him.
He said he would often spend free time in reviewing cricket laws and summarising them. Taufel talks about the importance of sharing and spreading the awareness about the laws of the game.
Taufel said it is important to remember where one starts from. He said grounding is the most important thing. He displayed photos of his early days in the game.
One interesting point he raised was that 'umpiring was a team game,' and said that the four umpires involved in a game need to work well together.
