India’s original Little Master Sunil Gavaskar turns 64 on Wednesday.

With 34 Test centuries and 10,122 Test runs against his name, Gavaskar’s greatness is well documented in the chronicles of world cricket.

His highest score was 236 unbeaten against West Indies in Chennai in 1984. Gavaskar was part of India’s World Cup winning team in 1983 and led India to win the Benson and Hedges World Championship cricket two years hence in 1985.

In 1987, World Cup Gavaskar scored his first and the only One-Day International century against New Zealand.
