The Supreme Court on Monday proposed a three-member panel to launch a fresh probe into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing scandal.

The apex court also directed the counsels of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Association of Bihar to take instructions on the three-member probe panel on Tuesday.

Srinivasan was re-elected as BCCI president on September 29, 2013, unopposed in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and won a year’s extension on his current tenure. But according to SC directive, he could not take charge till the petition levelled against him was disposed.

The SC, since August, had been in deliberation on a petition filed by Cricket Association of Bihar to stop Srinivasan from contesting the BCCI elections after his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was charge-sheeted by the Mumbai Police for betting in the IPL 2013.
