Ajinkya Rahane held the world record for taking the most catches in a Test when he caught Rangana Herath of the bowling of Amit Mishra. He equaled the record held by Greg Chappell and Yajurvindra Singh for taking seven catches when he caught Jehan Mubarak off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle. This also comes as welcome relief for India who have had trouble getting good slip fielders and Rahane doing well in such conditions augurs well for Indian cricket. Sri Lanka are in the game thanks to a brilliant century from Dinesh Chandimal, his fourth Test ton and have already gone past a lead of over 100 runs. Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne put on a century stand to steer Sri Lanka away from a follow-on in the first Test against India in Galle on Friday. The hosts, who trailed India by 192 runs in the first innings, fought back from 95-5 to reach 263-6 in their second knock by tea on the third day. Chandimal and Thirimanne, who joined hands before lunch with their team still 98 runs away from making India bat again, launched a brilliant counter-attack to put on 125 for the sixth wicket.
