England skipper Alastair Cook was visibly ecstatic at the end of the fifth and final Ashes 2015 Test at the Oval, with his team lifting the urn after having won the series 3-2. Although Australia ended up winning the series finale by an innings and 46 runs, it hardly dampened the spirits of the English dressing room, with Cook ecstatic at being one of the few English captains to have led his side to Ashes victory twice on home soil. “It’s an amazing experience. We came here to win the Ashes, and that’s what we have achieved. I have been absolutely priviledged to play in front of these crowds, and the support has been absolutely amazing,” Cook was quoted as saying after the match.
