Video highlights of the second innings between England and New Zealand in the second One-Day International (ODI) at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.

Needing 360 runs to win England began positively thanks to a half-century stand for the first wicket between Alaistair Cook and Ian Bell. Cook (34) and Bell (25) fell in quick successions. Jonathan Trott then played himself in and built the innings. Joe Root went for 28 and England’s innings began to collapse.

Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler failed to click. Trott brought up his century and remained unbeaten on 109. He didn’t get much support and England’s innings folded at 273 — 86 runs shy of the New Zealand total.

England have thus lost the three-match series. The third ODI at Trent Bridge is thus a dead rubber.
