Virat Kohli‘s love for chases in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) is not something unknown and he came up with one of his best ODI knocks against India‘s rival nation in the field of cricket, Pakistan during Asia Cup 2012. It was the fifth match of the tournament which was being held in Bangladesh. India were chasing a daunting score of 330 courtesy of a 224-run opening stand between the two centurion openers Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez. India though struck back to keep them down to 329 for six at the end of 50 overs. In the chase, India lost the wicket of Gautam Gambhir in the very first over but nothing stopped from Kohli from playing his shots and he registered his highest score in one-dayers. He started in a shaky manner but soon the drives began to unfurl and the powerful wrists were working overtime. He got good support from Sachin Tendulkar first and then Rohit Sharma at the other end but both of them got out after scoring their half-centuries. Kohli though raced away to a belligerent 148-ball 183 which included 22 fours and just the one towering six. He fell for 183 to Umar Gul, but India then needed only 12 more runs to win and Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni completed the formalities as India cruised to a win in the 48th over of the game. Kohli was deservedly awarded the Man of the Match for his breath taking knock and it remains to be one of his best tons in coloured clothing. Interestingly, that is also his highest score in List A cricket. Read: Virat Kohli’s 183 against Pakistan in Asia Cup
