Virat Kohli had a memorable tour of Australia in 2014-15. India had lost the first two Tests against Australia and both from a position of strength. India lost the game in Adelaide after needing just 120 runs in an session with eight wickets in hand. In Brisbane, India had Australia 247 for six in reply to their score of over 400 but Mitchell Johnson took the game away with an 88. India had lost wickets of Vijay and Pujara quickly when Kohli came out to bat and he along with Ajinkya Rahane took India past 400 from being 147 for 3. India were cruising when both Rahane and Kohli were scoring at a good pace.But once Rahane fell for 147, India went down from 409 for three to 465 all out. Kohli was dismissed for a score of 169, which till date is his highest Test score. MS Dhoni retired after this very Test and Virat Kohli was named the official Test captain. He is yet to win a match as a captain though, he drew with Bangladesh, courtesy of rain and lost to Sri Lanka in Galle after having the opposition five down for 95 after taking a lead of 192 in the first innings.
