Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal is surely among the most talented batters in the world but he has not done justice to his true potential. Currently, he is out of the side from all the formats and is working hard to make his comeback. In a recent T20 match between Lahore Whites and Rawalpindi in National T20 Cup, Akmal showed his glimpse of attacking batting and probably sent a message that he has not lost his touch yet when it comes to scoring in shorter formats.

Batting first, Lahore has lost their first two wickets at the score of 52. Karman Akmal and Salman Butt were back in the pavilion.  From there on, Umar Akmal went all guns blazing against the Rawalpindi side but saved the best for the penultimate over of the innings.

The over was bowled by seasoned campaigner Yasir Arafat and Umar plundered 34 from it. Five sixes and one four. Had that four gone for a six then he would have become the second batsman to hit six sixes in an over in a T20 after Yuvraj Singh.

Before that over, Umar was exactly 34-run short of his century and he ensured his hundred. It did remind all about Yuvraj’s feat, who had registered the fastest international fifty. The southpaw was exactly 36 short of his fifty.

In the final over, Umar hit three more boundaries and remained unbeaten by scoring 115-run from 48 balls. With Umar’s magnificent knock, Lahore posted a competitive total of 175, which Rawalpindi failed to chase and lost the match by 19 runs.
