This is something even Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina or the many sporting icons who endorse Adidas may not know.

Apparently, Adidas was originally “Virat Hindu Cobbler”; his name being Adi Narayan Das. This brand was founded in 1949 and was named ADINarayanDAS. But during a marketing tour to Germany, Christian Missionaries from Germany kidnapped him and hijacked his brand and changed the brand name to “ADIDAS”.

His original brand logo contained the Virat Hindu BJP logo, as he was an active member of Sangh Parivar in late 40’s.  The meaning of Adidas was “All day I dream about Sangh”. But later Sangh was replaced by Sports. Unfortunately Germans changed the logo too.

This was revealed by ‘Subramanian Swamy’ on his Facebook page. If you are wondering what all this garbage is, well all this is from a spoof account of Subramanian Swamy on Facebook who says he has a “PhD in economic from Dharvard University in Karnataka, is a history professor and a wanna be BJP MP”. Those ‘credentials’ are a dig at the real Swamy’s Harvard background and everything else as also the Adidas bit, which is a dig at Swamy’s fertile and provocative imagination about Hinduism.
