Not only did India Women life the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2017, they also finished the tournament unbeaten. The Eves had played the final match of the tournament against runners-up South Africa. The match went down till the last ball, and stand-in skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led the side to a nail-biting victory with her amazing composure. However, both India and South Africa Women — along with their Pakistan and Sri Lanka counterparts — have qualified for World Cup. As the tournament comes to an end, here is how the players performed individually throughout the tournament on a scale of 1 to 10. Mona Meshram, 9: Asked to step in when needed, Mona got a match-winning 59 runs that helped India get a good start. This was her third half-century in the tournament, no less.

Thirushkamini MD, 7: One of the most dependable hard-hitters of India, Thirushkamini’s century in the match against Ireland ensured India’s victory. Despite that she was given only two chances. However, she failed to pull off any heroics in the final.

Deepti Sharma, 9: A pillar of the Indian top-order, young Deepti impressed one and all with her all-round performance. Three fifties and 4 wickets make the teenager one of the crucial members of the side.

Veda Krishnamurthy, 7: The tournament did not turn out to be as fruitful for Veda as the other top-order batters. Her highest in the tournament was her 33 in the final, and she is certainly capable of doing better. However, she has fielded brilliantly, taking quite a few stunners at slip.

Harmanpreet Kaur, 8: If one looks at Harmanpreet’s scores in this tournament, one will say she has not played up to her potential. However, her real contribution was the tournament-sealing unbeaten 41 in the final. However, she did not display the greatest of strategic skills on the field. Shikha Pandey, 9: Bowling on Sri Lankan pitches, Shikha emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 wickets. She did an exceptional job of leading the pace attack in the absence of Jhulan Goswami and showed disciplined bowling.

Devika Vaidya, 8: One of the finds for India in the tournament, Devika impressed one and all with her maturity in batting at such an early age. Her 89 against hosts Sri Lanka was a commendable knock, while she also bagged 4 wickets in the tournament: an impressive show for a 19-year-old in her first overseas assignment.

Sushma Verma, 5: Sushma got chance to bat only twice in the tournament, and failed in both. She was not at her best behind the stumps too. While there were flashes of brilliance, there were moments when she failed to judge the turn.

Ekta Bisht, 9.5: Brilliant throughout the tournament, Ekta finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 13 scalps, including a 5-for against Pakistan. She bowled decently when put under conditions where there was no turn, and was one of the deadliest spinners in the series with a consistent rate. Poonam Yadav, 5: Playing perfect foil to Ekta, Poonam had a decent tournament with 5 wickets from 5 matches.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad, 5: Rajeshwari completed the Indian spin trinity, with 4 wickets from 4 matches.

Soni Yadav, 4: Soni did a decent job on debut against Sri Lanka, and came back well to take a wicket against Zimbabwe. However, the Indian bowling attack was too strong for her to find a permanent slot. Having said that, she has age on her side, and will definitely play a crucial role for India in future.

Mithali Raj, 10: Last but not the least, it is time for the captain herself. Mithali’s captaincy was at its usual best and so was her batting. She batted thrice, scoring 70*, 64 and 73*. Flawless.
