India score quickly: India needed to score at a quick rate, so that they could declare after having set West Indies a decent target and have a go at their batsmen. India scored 60 in just nine overs today and declared at 217 for 7. Rahane who reached his fifty off 88 deliveries remained unbeaten on 78 off 137 deliveries to bolster India’s lead to 345. Miguel Cummins’ 6-wicket haul: Cummins picked up six wickets in the second innings along with three scapls from the first innings. Cummins kept it simple. He was pitching the ball outside off and with a little assistance from the pitch, he managed to trouble all Indian batsmen. He got KL Rahul caught at slip off an away swinger and then trapped Virat Kohli in front with some inward swing. Overall, it was a good performance from the fast bowler – perhaps one of the few positives for the hosts from a match which promised much more from the hosts.

Darren Bravo’s solo effort: Bravo has not been in good form, off late, but managed to score his first fifty of the series but could not get any support from the other end. When Bravo departed for 59, West Indies’ score read 95 for 8 – an indication of how the score could have been more embarrassing had it not been a valiant effort from the left-hander.West Indies were finally bundled out for 108 – their second lowest Test score against India. Rohit-Bravo banter: Rohit and Bravo were seen having a verbal banter on the field. It is still not clear what the conversation was about, put the footage showed the two talking and were seen shoulder barging. Rohit then went over and again had some words with Bravo, with Kohli standing next to him. The umpire than calmed them down and the players went about their business. Rohit eventually had the last laugh after he caught Bravo at short leg of the bowling of Mohammed Shami.

Visitors clinch yet another series: India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series over West Indies going into the fourth Test at Port-of-Spain. This is only the third time India have won a series in West Indies. They achieved this feat for the first time under Rahul Dravid in 2006, followed by MS Dhoni in 2011. This means India have now won three back-to-back Test series in the Caribbean. The new look team of Kohli beat Sri Lanka (2-1) and South Africa (3-0) in 2015.
