Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beat Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 10 wickets in match 36 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. With this win, the Kings move to the fifth spot, while the Daredevils remain at the bottom of IPL 2017 points table. Sandeep Sharma took 4 for 20, while Martin Guptill and Hashim Amla achieved the target in 7.5 overs. Though the Daredevils placed last, they have six more games in hand. If they win all the contests, they may qualify for the playoffs. Let us have a look at the highlights. Full Cricket Scorecard, Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils, IPL 2017, Match 36

Zaheer misses out: Zaheer Khan was rested due to hamstring injury he had sustained in Daredevils’ previous contest which was against Kolkata Knight Riders. As a result, the Daredevils announced Karun Nair as the stand-in captain. However, he had a forgettable outing. You will know why as you progress through the highlights.

The Kings scare away Daredevils’ batters: Only three batters could score in double digits, the highest being Corey Anderson’s 18. All in all, they collected only 5 boundaries.

Daredevils register third-lowest total: The Kings bowled out Daredevils for a mere 67. This was the third-lowest total in IPL and Daredevils’ lowest overall. In addition, the Kings dismissed the Daredevils below 100 for the first time in 20 games between them.

Sandeep adjudged Man of the Match: Sandeep Sharma dismissed the top three batsmen within Powerplay. The likes of Sanju Samson, Sam Billings, and Shreyas Iyer added 11 runs between them, and fell prey to Sandeep’s swing-bowling. Sandeep also took a brilliant catch of his own bowling, which may as well end up as the tournament’s best. He then removed Kagiso Rabada to register his second four-wicket haul in IPL.

Guptill scores maiden half-century: With only 68 to win, Guptill went berserk and bludgeoned 6 fours and 3 sixes to score his maiden half-century in IPL. Given he now opens with Hashim Amla, the Kings would expect the devastating duo to play more such innings and gift them their maiden title.
