Delhi Daredevils
The Delhi Daredevils are planning well for this game. They are using all their resources and building up ideas so they can dominate the opposition and stamp their authority further. They need to remember, as the Devil warns, that they shouldn’t get too carried away and should have a realistic approach. With the Ace of Pentacles, Ten of Cups and the Eight of Wands by their side, they have the ability to develop and implement their plans through well coordinated team work. Batting may be a bit weak today in comparison to their bowling. Luckily they have the batsmen to rescue them if needed.
Virender Sehwag needs to be a bit careful with his batting initially. He will need to remain focused to get through his edginess, especially since the Wheel of Fortune does come out to support him towards the second-half of his innings. As a captain, he will show authority through some strong decision making. He will try his best to create and grab on to opportunities.
Key players
Irfan Pathan will find his start a bit stressful. He will gradually be more in control and will do well after his initial shaky start. The cards warn of a potential back strain, so it will be important for him to stretch well and remain calm.
Shahbaz Nadeem could be quite miserly in giving away runs, since he will read the batsmen quite well.
Kevin Pietersen will adapt himself according to the situation. He will accumulate runs at an even pace.
Mahela Jayawardene has the Star representing him, so if needed, he will be able to help the team recover. His game will develop and become more attacking towards the end.
Ross Taylor will be stable after an initial uncertain start. He will be able to support his partner well.
Morne Morkel will be strong, commanding and should have good bowling spells in partnership.
Umesh Yadav is another bowler who will command, stick to plans and grab on to opportunities well.
Deccan Chargers
The Deccan Chargers will be very similar to the Delhi Daredevils. They too will have strong, well thought out plans, but they will struggle more to implement them. They may try too hard to win, instead, as the Emperor suggests – if they remain determined and head strong, they will be able to over come their barriers and achieve success. The Chargers may also find themselves having an average batting day, but their bowling is looking stronger in comparison, so it will be important for them to not get too anxious while batting.
Kumar Sangakkara, like Virender Sehwag, may have a shaky start. With the Queen of Pentacles supporting Sangakkara, he should be able to overcome this soon and play a strong innings today. In his captaincy, Sangakkara will exude a lot of authority, desire to dominate and change his team’s fortune. He’s on the right track, but yet, the Nine of Wands shows his constant battle with his hidden anxieties. He will need to overcome this to bring some success.
Key players
Dale Steyn is looking strong and aggressive and has the ability to lay a firm foundation for the team’s success. He may attempt to try out too many strategies at once, which may not work out well.
Amit Mishra will bowl well in tandem and should be a very important bowler for the team.
Daniel Christian will need to regain focus and his aggression; otherwise he may have an average day.
JP Duminy should command today. The Nine of Pentacles and the Strength card show his potential to dominate and score according to the situation.
Ankit Sharma may seem a little misdirected today. He will need his captain to help him channelise his aggression more effectively.
Shikhar Dhawan may have a tough day. He carries with him disappointments and until he doesn’t leave those behind, he won’t be able to capitalise on today’s opportunity.
Anand Rajan will play a wise game. He won’t be aggressive; instead he will play to his strengths. He will have the opportunity to showcase his talent well.
Who has the advantage?
There really isn’t much difference between these teams, but the bowlers of the Delhi are looking stronger. Therefore, I would believe its advantage Delhi Daredevils.
