Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) begin their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 campaign with a huge win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Bangalore. It was a good performance by the RCB bowlers, who managed to weather the storm despite David Warner getting them off to a thunderous start. In the end, the target of 228 turned out to be a big one for SRH and fell short by 45 runs in the end. Everyone chipped in with both bat and ball for RCB, as a result of which they walked away as winners. Parvez Rasool dismisses Shikhar Dhawan with a peach: SRH had gotten themselves off to a good start. They were 35 for no loss at the end of three overs. Rasool was brought into the attack and he struck with his very first ball. the ball pitched on middle and then spun away, hitting Dhawan’s off stump. David Warner’s fifty: Warner got to his half-century off just 21 deliveries, but he could not add much to the score after that. He was dismissed for a 25-ball 58, which included four fours and as many as five maximums. SRH were very much in the game till he was at the crease. Parvez Rasool’s spell: Rasool bowled incredibly well throughout the match. He had figures of 2-0-10-1 in the powerplay overs and eventually finished with 1 for 31 in his four overs. His spell initially gave RCB their first breakthrough and bowled sensibly after that as well.

Ashish Reddy’s hitting at the end: Ashish was clearing the ball with ease at the latter stage of the innings. Even his mistimed shot were clearing the small boundaries at Chinnaswamy. he was eventually dismissed for 32 off 18. But it turned out to be too little as RCB romped home.

Shane Watson’s superb bowling at the death: RCB were favourites to win when Watson was handed the ball, but with Ashish hitting the ball well, SRH had a glimmer of hope. He dismissed Ashish with a full delivery and he restricted the batsmen well, despite Eoin Morgan being there till the end. He finished with figures of 2 for 30 in four overs.
