Since May 6, 2015, the Bollywood fraternity is in a mourning state. Salman Khan’s conviction in the 2002 hit- and-run case hasn’t gone well with large sections of the Hindi film industry, few of whom have decided logic in their over-the-top sycophancy to wriggle into the good books of Salman Khan. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Farah Ali Khan [daughter of actor Sanjay Khan] take the cake, the bakery and the baker in this regard!
Abhijeet tweeted:
Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I ws homles an year nvr slept on rd @BeingSalmanKhan @sonakshisinha
Mumbai ke road Aur footpath pe sone ka shauk hai ?? Y not at your village no vehicles to kill u.. Support @BeingSalmanKhan@sonakshisinha — abhijeet (@abhijeetsinger) May 6, 2015
Farah was not far behind Abhijeet when she tweeted:
It’s like penalising a train driver because someone decided to cross the tracks and got killed in the bargain. #salmankhancase
Our Bollywood insider source has informed us that the duo have joined hands in defiance. Apparently, they will be with their laptops outside the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday when Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Mumbai Indians to protest and tweet against Chris Gayle’s sixes. Abhijeet was overheard by our source drawing parallels between Gayle’s sixes and Salman’s drunk driving. He said, “Innocent people get hit by Gayle’s sixes even if they are outside the stadium. People don’t have problems with that, but if someone runs over sleeping people on streets, he is jailed! Aakhir kutta kutte ki maut hi marega na? I remember watching Gayle’s six hitting a sleeping spectator. Why wasn’t he arrested? Gayle just visited the victim in hospital, but Bhai has donated millions. Why such double standards?” Abhijeet’s continuous reference to dogs has even irked his own dog, who is believed to have left him for a new master who differentiates less between species.
The insider further informs that Farah came in support of Abhijeet and added, “Once I was driving near Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and a Gayle six shattered my car’s glass. If someone is allowed to accidentally hit the ball out of the ground and strike an innocent pedestrian, why isn’t someone allowed to run over people sleeping on roads? It’s not that Gayle is wrong, but the point is there has to be equality in treating people. Unfortunately our judiciary is not being human the way Salman is.”
When a sensible voice among them protested saying, “But drinking and driving is a crime.” Abhijeet shot back saying, “Gayle plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore. How do you know he doesn’t get drunk and bat? And we all know how much he loves his drinks and the good life!”
All eyes now on Abhijeet and Farah!
