Sunil Gavaskar has a fantastic sense of humour. Gavaskar has this knack of coming up with hard-hitting one-liners which can leave onlookers in splits. During Madhav Apte’s recent book launch in Mumbai, Gavaskar was at his best as he shared many cricketing anecdotes. However, there was one joke that had the crowd unanimous in laughter.
As Gavaskar walked up to the podium, he adjusted the microphone to suit his height, but it was still a little higher. One of the programme organisers came up and pushed the microphone down. Now, it was so down low, that Gavaskar was barely audible. In some time, another member of the organisation committee came up to readjust it and bring it up. Gavaskar smirked and said, “Men around our age face this problem!”
It took quite a while for the laughter to die down!
