The Vacationers: An account of India’s travails Down Under in 2014-15

The title of the book is fitting for the Indian cricket team's recent tour of India for the Tests and One-Day Internationals. But it was a tour where they failed to win a single game.

The Vacationers is a novel authored by Emma Straub released in May 2014. The book was well received by the critics. It’s a cleverly observed novel about the secrets, joys, and jealousies that rise to the surface over the course of an American family’s two-week stay in Mallorca, Spain.

The title of the book is fitting for the Indian cricket team’s recent tour of India for the Tests and One-Day Internationals. But it was a tour where they failed to win a single game.

An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) who did not want to be named said: “We understand the team is tired. We have booked them in a resort near Adelaide. They can switch off their mobile phones and relax and recover ahead of the World Cup.”

Now that’s some incentive for consecutive defeats. The cricketers have decided to enjoy their extended leisure time ahead of the World Cup by combining their collective journals in the novel.

Like Straub’s book deals talks about secrets, joys and jealousies in the family in subject, The Men In Blue’s version too will explore similar lines, so get ready for some spicy revelations.
