Yes, you read it right! Indian skipper MS Dhoni might be bowling today against Zimbabwe in the first ODI at Harare. Dhoni was seen brushing up his bowling skills in the nets yesterday. Also with KL Rahul in the side as a wicketkeeper there is good chance that MS Dhoni might bowl a spell in the first ODI against Zimababwe. It would not be the first time in the history that Dhoni will be bowling in ODIs. It might come as a surprise to many, but Dhoni also has one international wicket under his name in ODIs. The last time he bowled was in 2009 against West Indies. He picked up the wicket of Travis Dowlin who played on, thrashing his wickets apart in the process and giving Dhoni his maiden wicket in the format. Full Cricket Scorecard: Zimbabwe vs India, IPL 2016, 1st ODI match, at Harare

Dhoni has a tough task ahead of him leading an inexperienced side on the tour of Zimbabwe. The last time he played on Zimbabwe’s soil was in 2005. His bowling figures in that match were 1 for 14. He has only bowled six overs in his entire career with an average of 31.00 and an economy rate of 5.16. Dhoni, the bowler, bowls as a right-arm medium pacer with a speed of 125 to 130 kmph. He tries to swing the ball back to the batsman, luring him to play a shot. ALSO READ: Lokesh Rahul, Karun Nair and Yuzvendra Chahal to debut in 1st ODI at Harare

There is a possibility that Zimbabwe batsmen might make a mistake if they take him for granted and might end up losing their wickets. Dhoni will fancy his chances keeping in mind a not-so-strong opposition in front and it might turn out to be a happy moment for his fans if he would end up taking wickets. Also, with a one-sided series expected, this might just be the reason for fans to tune into the game for a moment they will forever cherish watching.
