Only a couple of days back, former England player Andrew Flintoff failed to recognise him. But on Monday, the ‘Universe Boss’ and one of the leading active cricketers Chris Gayle not only visited him, but also praised his hospitality. Yes, we are talking about the living legend Amitabh Bachchan, who played host to the big Jamaican at his Mumbai residence. The superstar also gifted him a couple of books and asked him to score a hundred in the semi-final but ensure that India wins.
Since both India and West Indies teams are in Mumbai for the second semi-final which will be played at the Wankhede on Thursday, Gayle took some time off ahead of the much anticipated clash and paid a visit to Amitabh, who hosted him and asked to score a 100 but also make sure that India end up as the winners. The West Indian opener shared the image from their meeting through his official Instagram account with the caption reading:
“What an absolutely legend, @amitabhbachchan Thanks for the invite and hospitality at your home, thanks also for the books. The boss wants me to score a 100 and India win but I would take the win rather than the 100 . #Love&Respect to a great man, Mr Bachchan. The wine & food”

Amitabh, who is an avid cricket fan, has been in the news ever since the World T20 began. He was invited to sing the national anthem during India-Pakistan match in Kolkata, for which he landed into unwanted controversy after he reportedly sang it slowly and took longer than the specified time to finish. Later, he tweeted about biased commentary by few commentators, which forced Harsha Bhogle to come out with a clarification. Very recently, his reply to Andrew Flintoff on his Virat Kohli-Joe Root comparison tweet also garnered much attention.
