India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja got engaged to Reeva Solanki, who is a mechanical engineer. The ceremony was held on Friday at Jadeja’s restaurant, Jaddu’s Food Field, located on Kalavad road in Rajkot.
In a report from PTI, an elated Jadeja told the media, “In the game of cricket luck plays an important role and when I got engaged to Riva, I hope that lady luck will help me to do better in both cricketing life and personal life.”
Jadeja impressed in the recently concluded tour of Australia and will be key to India’s chances in the upcoming T20I tournaments. “In first two months of the year I think I have done well in cricket and after this engagement, I hope that next ten months would bring more success in my cricketing life. My cricketing schedule is very tight, but I will try to spare some time for marriage,” the 27-year-old added.
The southpaw hopes to make an impact in the upcoming ICC World T20 to be staged in India. His fiancée Riva does not follow cricket keenly but now has every reason to follow the sport. The event was attended by Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) honorary secretary Niranjan Shah and Rajkot city police commissioner Mohan Jha, however his state teammates could not make it because of the Ranji Trophy quarter final.
