The second match of Asia Cup Twenty20 (T20) 2016 qualifier was played between Hong Kong and Oman, which turned out to be a thriller of a game. Batting first, Oman scored a good total of 180 on board with the loss of five wickets. Nadeem Ahmed from Hong Kong took three wickets in his four overs and conceded 27 runs. In reply to which Hong Kong’s batsmen floundered barring Babar Hayat. No other player could go past 15 runs mark and five batsmen were unable breach the double figure mark. Hayat played a scintillating knock of 122 runs from just 60 balls with nine boundaries and seven sixes but lost the match to Oman by five runs. 1.  Babar Hayat completed his century in just 50 balls, which is the fastest century by an associate player and fourth fastest overall in T20Is.

2.  Oman’s total of 180 is the fifth highest team total by any associate teams. The other four are of Ireland (225), Afghanistan (215), Netherlands (193) and Kenya (183).

 3.  Hayat’s 122 is now the fourth highest individual score in T20Is and highest by any associate team player. The other three are of Aaron Finch (156 not out), Watson (124 not out) and Brendon McCullum (123).

 4.  Hong Kong’s 175 while chasing is the highest runs scored by a losing side for any associate teams.

 5.  Hayat and Anshuman Rath had a decent partnership of 58 runs for second wicket while chasing. This is now second biggest partnership for second wicket by any pair among all associate teams in a losing cause.
