South African cricketer Faf du Plessis made an appeal for donations on his official Instagram account to refuel the choppers which have been constantly used for the rescue operations of the widespread fires in the Cape’s Southern Peninsula. The Cape fires have already seen hundreds being forced to leave their homes.

Du Plessis encouraged donations however big or small and asked for help in order to save the homes, mountains, flora and fauna.

His wife, Imari du Plessis also shared pictures and appreciative messages for the firefighters who are risking their lives to fight the multiple blazes, with strong winds fanning flames.
