Unstoppable, mind-boggling, incredible consistency, Superman, Batman and the words can keep coming. These are some words we have used to describe Virat Kohli and his purple patch. He challenges himself in every innings and now has over 900 runs in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) and may go on to be the first-ever batsman to breach the 1000-mark in the tournament.
Bowlers around the world have tried hard to find an answer to Kohli’s incredible run without any success and in an interview with DNA, Delhi Daredevil’s (DD) Chris Morris praised Kohli, saying, “Virat is a serious player. He is going through a serious purple patch and the scariest thing for me is I can see Virat can only get better. The guy looks like he has got his game sorted out in every single aspect. Talking of combating Kohli, he further added, “If I had an answer to that, I will be making a lot more mone. He is a serious player, he is riding it beautifully. Kohli is in the best form and to get 800-plus runs in IPL is a serious record, it is going to be tough to get him out.”
Morris’ side was at the receiving end on Sunday night when they lost their must-win game against Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the latter qualified for the playoffs. Kohli struck another 50, a Man of the Match performance to ensure DD were out of the tournament.
