In last few months, current and former cricketers have been revealing their All-Time XI. It has become a trend now as every now and then some or the other cricketer can be seen coming up with up with his All-Time XI. Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis becomes the latest member to join the bandwagon as he came up with his team of modern day One-Day International (ODI) XI.
In a tweet from Waqar, David Warner and Rohit Sharma will be opening the batting along with Virat Kohli at three. The middle-order hails of one of the greatest batsmen of from the current crop — AB de Villiers followed by Steve Smith as captain and then Jos Buttler as the wicketkeeper of the side. Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali will be fulfilling the role of all-rounders. This surely makes the batting department looks lethal and has immense depth.
His bowling department includes the likes of Mitchell Starc, who has done well across formats every in almost every conditions. The other two pacers are Mohammad Amir and Mustafizur Rahman followed by Martin Guptill as the 12th man of the team. The team looks good but having just a solitary spinner, who hasn’t done anything exceptional in his career yet, certainly look weak. But not to forget that this side has such batsmen who can turn the game at any point and have the ability to chase any total.
Waqar Younis’ modern day ODI team: David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Steve Smith (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Mitchell Starc, Mohammad Amir, Mustafizur Rahman, Martin Guptill (12th man).
