Former Australian captain Ian Chappell on Sunday blasted Team India’s lack of leadership and said that a strong leader will tell his players to stop complaining and get on with the job in hand.

On Saturday, after India crushed to a four wicket loss at Brisbane, Indian team issued a statement that said, “Indian team has been asking for the fresh net practice wickets several times for last two days which not been provided and instead of that, they have asked to practice on worn out wickets which has uneven bounce.”

Chappell was very critical of India’s complaints calling it “whingeing.”

“You don’t go putting out a statement about it. When you come out with a statement like that, particularly after you’ve lost a few wickets in the morning, it looks like whingeing,” said Chappell.

The Australian players also said that the practice wickets were completely fine.

All Australian players have found the nets perfectly fine. Even Australian cricketer Ryan Harris, who batted in the nets the same morning, said that was more than happy with their condition.
