Australian opener David Warner gifted signed gloves to the young Afghan boy who was injured after being hit by an explosive six during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match between Australia and Afghanistan at the WACA, Perth on Wednesday.

Young Shahabuddin was struck on the torso by one of Warner’s humongous sixes during his rampant innings of 178 against Afghanistan. Nasir Andisha, Afghanistan Foreign Secretary Officer, who was part of the audience in Perth confirmed Warner’s gesture on Twitter and also informed that Shahab, who was later seen sporting an ice pack is doing well.

The hard-hitting batsman smashed a whirlwind knock of 178 off 133 balls, hitting 19 boundaries and five maximums. The innings ensured that Australia put up a mammoth target of 417 runs in the allotted 50 overs. In reply, Afghanistan were bowled out for 142, losing the Pool A game by 275 runs.
