The India-Pakistan match on Sunday in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 was not only a hit on television but also on the social media especially Twitter where fans from across the globe were tweeting about the match using the tag #INDvPAK and #CWC15, according to the data from Twitter India. The data released by Twitter India says 1.7 million tweets were registered during the match which shows that Twitter became the #SecondScreen for viewers. The total number of views of tweets related to the match was 118.3 million.

The data also gives details as to at which point the tweeters were tweeting. When India won by 76 runs, it was at that time that tweeters tweeted the most, it generated 9,987 TPM (tweets per minute). Second moment was Virat Kohli’s century which generated 7,159 TPM; third was when Kohli was dismissed, it got 6,916 TPM. In fourth, was the wicket of Umar Akmal off Ravindra Jadeja, when MS Dhoni used the DRS and Akmal was given out, it had 6,837 TPM. And the fifth and final moment was the wicket of Shahid Afridi which got 6,435 TPM.
Six players were ranked according to their mentions on Twitter; Kohli led the ranking as he was the one, most mentioned by tweeters. Pakistan’s captain Misbah-ul-Haq was second highest with Afridi in third. India captain Dhoni was fourth while Suresh Raina slotted in fifth. The impressive Sohail Khan who took five wickets was at sixth.
