Indian team management says that Virat Kohli did not use offensive language

The Indian team management has denied allegations that Vice-captain Virat Kohli used abusive language towards a senior journalist in Perth on Tuesday. India were training at the Murdoch University in Perth ahead of the West Indies clash when Kohli had a go at a senior journalist from an Indian national newspaper. (ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Full coverage)

It is believed that Kohli mistook him for another journalist, whose daily had carried a story about Kohli’s relationship with girlfriend Anushka Sharma.

“There was a misunderstanding and no abusive language was used, Virat has spoken to the concerned gentlemen immediately and matter ends,” Dr RN Baba was quoted in a report by Cricketcountry.com.

Nevertheless, Jasvinder Sidhu from Hindustan Times was the journalist who was at the receiving end of the barrage, made a detail of this incident in his account and has said that he could clearly hear expletives being directed at him.
