Winning a silver medal at Olympics in women’s singles category in badminton is a huge achievement. PV Sindhu got this honour, when she became the first Indian woman to do so on Friday at Rio Games.

Her act has inspired many sportspersons across the nation and one of them is India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The 29-year-old Indian cricketer is currently in the Caribbean and playing the fourth Test against West Indies, which has been currently interrupted by rain as the second day of the game was washed out and that was the reason behind the entire Indian team getting to watch Sindhu’s match live. ALSO READ: Watch ‘weightlifter’ Ravichandran Ashwin tear it up in the gym

During the final match of Sindhu, millions of eyeballs were on her while she was squaring off with world no. 1 Carolina Marin of Spain. After the match, Ashwin recorded a video which was posted by the official Twitter account of BCCI in which he said that the he is inspired by Sindhu and hopes his daughter plays Badminton in future.
