Delhi Daredevils (DD) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Raipur on Tuesday. DD are well out of the race of making it to the play-offs but they would love to disrupt CSK’s run and create an upset for them in the tournament. When the sides met each other for the first time in this tournament, CSK had managed a win by a run and DD will like to reverse that now.
While CSK with 16 points is placed comfortably at the top in the points table, DD with four wins from their 12 outings are just above the bottom-dwellers Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Both the team had contrasting results in their previous encounters. CSK won a close encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR) whereas; DD endured a marginal defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) while chasing 164.
CSK have a well-oiled team but their batsmen have to step up as the knock out stages is very near. They have done well in the tournament and will once again look to come out hard against DD as they will be playing this match for pride.
DD will look forward to seek a revival of fortunes in their clash tonight. Their previous clash was crucial to keep their hopes alive in the tournament but they failed to do so. They have failed to contribute as a unit as a result of which they are no more in the race but will fight for their pride. JP Duminy has led the team from the front but unfortunately didn’t get enough support from his teammates.
Raipur is all set to witness the clash of the two teams, expect a run galore. We present you with the pick of the tweets.
Quite remarkable this deep into the tournament … still plenty to decide over the next couple of days! https://t.co/ogXrKtSET8
