Match 28 of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between Gujarat Lions (GL) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Rajkot on Sunday. Both the teams are at the opposite end of the spectrum, as GL are the table toppers with six wins from their seven games and KXIP are at the bottom with just a solitary win from six games.
Hosts GL have everything going their way. IPL 9 debutants have done wonderfully well so far and have a settled unit coming into this fixture. Even the injuries have not troubled them as Aaron Finch, who was in a sublime touch, was replaced by an equally destructive Dwayne Smith after he got injured. With their batting being rock solid, bowlers too have not disappointed so far.
KXIP on the other hand, have had a forgettable start to the season. Half way down in the tournament, they have relieved their skipper David Miller of captaincy and appointed Murali Vijay instead. This says a lot about the state the team is presently in. KXIP are also struggling to find a balanced playing XI and Sunday’s game is expected to see a lot of changes besides the change in leadership.
