England’s Test captain Alastair Cook is a special talent. The southpaw, who is approaching the milestone of 10,000 Test runs, is also on the verge of becoming the youngest player to reach to elite club, which has the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara and Rahul Dravid among others as members.
Cook could have achieved the milestone on Thursday itself, when the first Test between England and Sri Lanka got underway. Prior to the Test, Cook needed 36 runs to get to the milestone, as he was sitting at 9,964 runs. His England team mate Jos Buttler, who is currently a part of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) and representing Mumbai Indians (MI), took a friendly dig at his captain with his witty tweet, which went as follows:
Cook to horn 6 sixes in an over to get to 10,000??

Buttler, who is currently in the T20 mode, asked the same in a light-hearted manner. His former team-mate James Taylor, who recently bid adieu to the game due to a heart ailment, also replied to the tweet with laughing emoticons, suggesting that Cook, who is considered a Test specialist and known for his conventional game, may not even try it.

The friendly banter among the English mates made for a good view. Meanwhile, Cook will have to wait for the second innings as he got dismissed for 16 in the first innings.
