They are giant killers on the field but can they dominate the proceedings in the kitchen? Well, they surely tried! The Kings XI Punjab team participated in a lassi-making competition along with the Smile Foundation in Chandigarh. The event was judged by award winning Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna (also the goodwill ambassador for Smile’s Nutrition for Better Literacy).
Wriddhiman Saha, Thisara Perera, Rishi Dhawan, Anureet Singh, Shivam Sharma, Manan Vohra, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Akshar Patel, Karanveer Singh and Parwinder Awana from the team engaged in the activity. True to the spirit of Punjab, the players were at their jovial best as they were paired with children from the foundation and battled it out to make delectable lassis.
The event was inspired by Vikas Khanna’s recently launched recipe book, ‘Amritsar’ and was a part of Kings XI Punjab’s social initiative campaign. Saha went on to win the competition while Balaji and Dhawan were declared second and third, respectively.
