Australia and India will meet for the one final time in the One-Day International (ODI) series when they take on each other in the fifth ODI at Sydney on Saturday. The hosts will be looking for a whitewash after winning the first four matches, while the visitors have one last chance to restore some pride.
Australia have bulldozed India in the series so far, coming out victorious on all four occasions. They have outplayed Indians in all the departments and showed the world as to why they are the World Champions. Though there were some apprehensions regarding the young and inexperienced side they were fielding. But the results have put all the doubts to rest.
India on other hand have batted brilliantly so far in the series. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan have wielded their willow with some flair but Indian bowlers have been a huge letdown. Barring the fourth game, where the batsmen cost India the match, it is the bowlers who have failed to deliver for the team.
The last game gives the Indians one last opportunity to save face. Also with the Twenty20 (T20) International series commencing right after the ODI series, it will be a good chance for the team to get their act together. On the whole, another high-scoring contest awaits us when these two giants lock horns with each other at Sydney. Live streaming is available on StarSports.com.
Teams from:
India: Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (captain & wk), Gurkeerat Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishi Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Barinder Sran, Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav.
