West Indies take on United Arab Emirates in their final group match of the Pool B of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Napier on Sunday. West Indies need a handsome win against UAE in order to qualify for the quarter-finals. Their result would also depend on the outcome of Pakistan vs Ireland match on the same day. On the other hand, debutants UAE have already exited from the tournament after failing to win even a single match out of five they have played so far. (ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Full Coverage)
Placed below Pakistan and Ireland, who both have six points apiece, with four points but a better NRR, Jason Holder-led West Indies will be hoping to win the match by a huge margin to ensure their chances of making it to the last eight are better even if the Pakistani outfit lose against Ireland, owing to higher NRR. (ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Points Table)
The spirited UAE will want to bow out of the tourney with a win, to bring smiles to their supporters’ faces and in the process spoil the party for the Caribbeans, which is quite possible with the ability and quality they have shown in a few matches which were close defeats.
The match begins at 3.30 am IST and will be shown live at Starsports.com. Criclife presents you with the pick of the tweets.
