The English team at present since the past two years has been in complete turmoil and unrest. The 2013-14 Ashes saw them getting whitewashed at the hands of their arch rivals Australia. Star batsman Kevin Pietersen was sacked from the team post the humiliating Ashes series. In the recently ended ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, England got dumped out in the group stages by Bangladesh. Now, after a woeful World Cup campaign, managing director Paul Downton got sacked on Wednesday.

After his infamous sacking, it now looks like former England’s Test captain Michael Vaughan is the favorite for the vacant post created by Downton.

In a report from ANI, Vaughan said that he was always open to discuss about the future of English cricket, admitting that the World Cup was a disaster because of the way the team played and it was unavoidable that there would be change. Vaughan further backed the cash-laden Indian Premiere League (IPL) and opined that an IPL-style window has to be created in the next two years or so, in order to bring fresh talents into the national team.
