Heroes from the 2005 and 2015 England Ashes winning teams combined to draw caricatures to celebrate their win and also raise funds in the process for cricket’s three biggest charities — Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and the PCA Benevolent Fund.
The portraits are slated to be available on eBay, with the auction open until August 23, while three charities are urging public attendance for the third day of the final Ashes 2015 Test at The Oval to wear something blue to celebrate the Cricket United Day.
In one of the pictures, Joe Root sketched Andrew Flintoff renting a pedalo, in reference to his infamous 2005 Ashes celebration. The most sought after picture is the one which has been drawn by Michael Vaughan trying to give his take on the Stuart Broad’s ‘OMG moment.’
English pacer James Anderson caricatured the ‘Shane Warne-moment’ when Warnie bamboozled Andrew Strauss. This is a very virgin concept of cricketers taking interest in art in its literal form.
