Finally, the lady luck has smiled on Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, as he recently got engaged to Reeva Solanki in Rajkot. Jadeja refers to his fiancée as ‘luck’ because the Saurashtra star was included in the Asia Cup and ICC World T20 squads a few hours after they got engaged.
The shy and introverted player, who is also an animal lover, has always maintained that cricket is his first love. But it is not the same with his fiancée Reeva, for whom cricket was a “waste of time” until recently. A report in Mid-Day quoted her saying, “I was never interested in cricket before Ravindra came into my life. But that’s in the past. I now go to matches to watch Ravindra playing. I have also started following the game closely.” ALSO READ: …And Ravindra Jadeja joins the club; gets engaged to Reeva Solanki
So what exactly is Reeva’s first love? Jadeja’s lady is preparing for the UPSC exam, which remains her priority over cricket. She is not scheduled to travel with Jadeja for his matches as she is busy with her studies. “There will be ample time to go for matches after the exams,” she says.

Incidentally, it is Watsapp that brought the couple together. Both have been seeing each other for the last three months, ever since Jadeja first saw a photograph of Reeva through a message sent by his sister Nayna. “Just by the look of it, you understand if that person can be your life partner. When I first saw Reeva’s photograph, I felt this is the person with whom I want to spend my entire life with,” Jadeja said.
