Video: Dhammika Prasad’s pays tribute to Kumar Sangakkara by singing

It’s been an emotional week in the world of cricket with two cricketing legends retiring from the sport. Michael Clarke and Kumar Sangakkara, both retired and tributes poured in from all around the globe. [Also Read: Kumar Sangakkara to star in ‘I am Legend’!]

Sangakkara’s teammate and Sri Lankan fast bowler Dhammika Prasad paid a special tribute and sang a song for the left-hander. The video was tweeted by cricket’s governing body, International Cricket Council (ICC). [Also Read: Kumar Sangakkara gets emotional during his retirement speech]

The song is in Sinhalese and the tune resembles the popular Bollywood song, ‘Yeh Shaam Mastani’, from the 1970 hit film Kati Patang.

Sangakkara played his last Test against India at P Sara Oval in Colombo and managed a total of 50 runs. Sri Lanka ended up losing the game but Sangakkara retired with 12400 Test runs with 38 centuries. In a career spanning over 15 years, the southpaw has amassed over 16000 across formats in international cricket.
