Video: When a ‘fuming’ Praveen Kumar charged at David Warner during IPL 2016 Qualifier 2

Warner’s unbeaten knock of 58-ball 93 eventually won the game for his side. He did not lose his cool like Kumar and in the end, it helped him and his side, as they entered their maiden IPL final.

Gujarat Lions (GL) pacer Praveen Kumar has had temperamental issues in the past. The aggressive bowler has on many occasions crossed his line by getting involved into an unwanted altercation with the opposition batsmen. On Friday, another such incident happened during the Indian Premier League (IPL) qualifier 2 between his side GL and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

GL had scored 162 batting first and SRH were in complete command of the chase with their skipper David Warner in the middle. During the 17th over of the innings, Kumar was hit for an unexpected six by bowler Bipul Sharma. This perhaps infuriated him and when Warner faced the last ball of the over, Kumar got involved in an ugly incident with the Australian.

Warner played back the last ball to the bowler Kumar who seeing that the batsman was out of his crease, pretended to throw twice at Warner, who did not budge. A frustrated Kumar charged at him by murmuring few words but Warner did not respond to him and stayed calm. Just when Kumar reached very close to Warner, GL wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik came in between and diffused the situation. Watch the video of the incident here:
