Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane is known to be one of the calmest cricketers in the Indian team. He has been often compared with former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid who is considered to be among the best and calmest cricketers India ever had. One can sledge these two cricketers numerous times but they will rarely respond. But recently, Rahane revealed about an incident where he was continuously sledged by the Australian and his reply was epic. Also Read: When Ajinkya Rahane rendered support to Virat Kohli to fight ‘fire with fire’ against Mitchell Johnson

Talking to famous standup comedian Vikram Sathaye on his show named ‘What The Duck’, Rahane talked about the incident and said, “We were playing emerging tournament in Australia. We went with India A, I think that tour was six or seven years ago. Our match was with Australia and I was hitting shots and playing defence. Wicketkeeper was telling something or the other from behind. At that time they were talking so fast that I couldn’t make out what it was. But I knew they were telling something to me. I was hitting boundaries but still they were saying something. I am playing defence but still they were saying something. It went on for 10-15 minutes. So I hit a boundary in the next over and still they were saying something. So I turned back and did like this (showed his tongue like the below image). ”

Well, no idea whether it was a perfect answer to the Australian cricketers or not but it worked as Rahane continued it by adding, ” So their reaction after that was on how to give reply to it. So after that they didn’t utter a single word during the entire match. So somewhere I felt happy from inside that someone is not talking. They were talking a lot. Though I was playing well and hitting boundaries and they became quiet.” Also Read: ‘Deputy’ Ajinkya Rahane opens up on his partnership with ‘attacking Captain’ Virat Kohli

As always, the room where the talks between Sathaye and Rahane was going on was filled with laughter after listening this interesting anecdote. And moral of the story, when the Australians are sledging just show your tongue the way Rahane did.
