Virat Kohli-led India won the fourth and final Test against South Africa in Delhi in a thumping fashion and in the process, climbed to the No. 2 spot in the ICC Test rankings. Having already sealed the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead in Nagpur, India continued their winning run at Feroz Shah Kotla by beating South Africa by 337 runs. India had started the series being at No. 5 while South Africa were the top-ranked team in the world. Despite losing the Delhi Test as well as the series, the Proteas have retained the No. 1 rank. They end the series with 114 rating points while India are now at 110 points after the Delhi Test. With 109 points, Australia are No. 3., followed by Pakistan (106) and England (99) at fourth and fifth spot respectively. India put on a clinical display throughout the series. They won the first Test in Mohali comprehensively inside three days. The second Test in Bengaluru was a washout and the third in Nagpur was again won by India in three days. Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged the Man-of-the-Series for his 31 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja made a stunning comeback in the series that was dominated by the spinners.
