Ghana take on the United States of America (USA) in the FIFA World Cup 2014 in a Group G match on June 16 at Natal. This is the second match in Group G after Germany thrashed Portugal 4-0 at Salvador earlier in the day. Germany’s comprehensive win showed the calibre of the team and only a miracle will stop them qualifying for the knock-out stages.
African juggernaut Ghana and North American champions USA played the Round of 16s tie in the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Ghana beat USA then to become the only African team to qualify for the quarter-finals in the FIFA World Cup in 2010. USA are without legendary player Landan Donovan as coach Jurgen Klinsmann decided to drop him. A victory for either will help them in their search to qualify for the knock-out stages.
