Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 2 of the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy quarter-final between Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, live from Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Bengal were one of the two teams to go through the league stage undefeated, Mumbai being the other. Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary after winning the toss decided to bowl first in conditions which were conducive to fast bowling. Ashoke Dinda early on did manage to get the ball to swing around only to go wicket-less. However it was Aditya Shrivastava and Naman Ojha who guided Madhya Pradesh to a total of 254 for 4 with captain Devendra Bundela on 42 well supported by Harpreet Singh Bhatia who is not out 51*. Saha was trapped by IShwar Pandey who had bowled his heart out in the post-lunch session. Saha looked uneasy on the pitch. Pandey has also picked up Bengal’s captain Manoj Tiwary for three runs as he gave a simple catch to wicket-keeper Naman Ojha.

Datey went for a duck, mean while Ishwar Pandey has looked good in his short stay at the pitch and managed to a hug six. Bengal will look to pick up two remaining wickets as early as possible.

Ashoke Dinda picks the prize wicket of Devendra Bundela, in an attempt to hit through the covers Bundela was caught by the keeper. Bundela was playing well in his innings of 58 off 143 balls, surviving Day 1. Madhya Pradesh is now looking in trouble as they have lost out on two wickets so far.
LIVE CRICKET SCORE Madhya Pradesh 254/5 in 89.1 overs | Batting: Devendra Bundela 42(117), Ankit Dane 0(0) : OUT!! Ashoke Dinda strikes early. Harpreet Singh Bhatia who looked last evening in his innings of 51 was caught by Pankaj Kumar Shaw. Devendra Bundela will look to carry on his marathon innings on Day 2. Bengal will be happy to see their star bowler Dinda finally picks his first wicket of the match, Day 1 was the least productive for him.
Starting the Day Madhya Pradesh batsmen looked to go slow and with Bengal pacers getting good bounce and movement from the pitch. Veer Pratap Singh struck first as MP lost the key wicket of Jajal Saxena. Rajat Patidar was next to go as Sayan Shekar Mandal nabbed him for 17. Aditya Shrivastava and Naman Ojha came into the rescuing act and mustered the score to 141 before Shrivastava got out to Pragyan Ojha for a well made 65. Ojha was next to go making 64 as Pratap Singh got his second wicket. Devendra Bundle and Harpreet Singh managed to take MP into stumps without any more fall of wicket. Harpreet also scored his quick fire fifty in 88 balls . Bundela was well placed at 42 runs at end of days play. Bundela in his innings of 42 runs also become MP’s first ever batsmen to cross the 6,000 first class career runs.
