Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the third and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Tuesday. This is Sandipan Banerjee here, and I will be presenting to you the live updates from the match. MATCH PREVIEW: India vs Zimbabwe, 3rd ODI at Harare
India clinched the series with a 62-run win in the second match of the three-game series, all the matches of which are played at the same venue. India were led to a strong start after the hosts put them to bat. With half-centuries from skipper Ajinkya Rahane (63) and Murali Vijay (72), India were cruising at a score of 203 for two. The middle-over however, build from the momentum, as India finished on 271 for eight. In reply, Zimbabwe were shot out for 209, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar picking four wickets for 33 runs.
The visitors had a tougher time in the opening game, struggling at 87 for five at one stage after being put to bat. They were ultimately rescued by a century by Ambati Rayudu (124 not out) as well as a well-made half-century by Stuart Binny (77), with the sixth-wicket partnership between the two worth 160. The Zimbabweans, in reply, fell five runs short of victory despite Elton Chigumbura‘s (104 not out) fighting century.
